Barack Obama Inauguration Widget from SocialSite

Greetings web2.0 widget fans!

We’ve got a great new badge available today that taps into the immense excitement building up to Barack Obama’s inauguration.

“A New Birth of Freedom”, as it’s named, falls on January 20th, and our Inauguration widget will happily track the Web’s excitement over the historic event.

SocialSite: Barack Obama Inauguration 2009 Widget follows the blogs that have sprung up over the event and all other sites referenceing those blogs (which include the official senate.gov site!).

Of course we’re also tracking related YouTubes, Qik live videos, Flickr photos, plus all the twitters of those lucky enough to score tickets and get to DC.

Check out all the sources and get the pretty embed code on the widget info page for ourĀ web2.0 Barack Obama inauguration widget.

And hey! If you have any links or blogs that aren’t being tracked by this or any of our widgets, drop a message to rafael at thingfo dot com and I’ll update the sources.

We’re all about the Social Web here at ThingFo!

UPDATE: On his Ricochet blog Chrys Wu wrote a cool “Inauguration Widget Roundup” and included this widget. In my humble opinion, ours is the best of the bunch (and one of the only that still has new content coming in as people upload their photos, talk about the availability of Inauguration Luncheon recipes, and Twitter happily about the slow-fading Inauguration glow)! Thanks Chrys! Link.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with the Inauguration widget. I keep coming back and playing with it, checking out the updates. I think it’s a perfect example of the strengths of the SocialSite widget system, so it’s extra-cool you like it.
