SocialSite badge system — git yer private alpha codes!

We have new toys for you.

With our new SocialSite system, you can create a custom, people-powered content feed for your site that provides great content and connections for your visitorsin minutes.

You control what content shows up and how your badge (aka widget) looks.  For example, your badge (also called widgets) can contain activity related to your site — who’s Digging your articles, bookmarking you on Delicious, Twittering about you, visiting you as a MyBlogLogger, the list goes on.

You can add the comment feed from your blog (or your Disqus or HaloScan implementation).   Blog posts via RSS. An Inbound blogs feed (who’s linking to you), Flickr photos, YouTube videos, WetPaint Wiki activity feeds, and more! Of course, we’ll keep adding feed sources as you ask for them.

Here’s an example badge/widget for BarackObama.com.   (Also, check out the badge for Thingfo in the sidebar)

The system is open, in that the content is not purely restricted to what you create, or what happens on your domain.  You can add specific queries for various feeds to create a really targeted (or not) feed for your site, for topics of interest, people you’re following.. you get the idea!

The overall goal of SocialSite is to help the people who are running a site leverage your broad community of contributors from across the web — all the people who may be interacting with your content, or creating content you’re interested in.  Create an engaging community based on the full network of contributors related to your content, your site, and your interests.
